Looking to go private for a diagnosis on aspergers

Hi I'm hoping anyone that's reading this could help me,my 11 year old son was referred by his school in may 2011 as we think he has aspergers,I took my son to my GP when he was 7 as I knew there was something not quite right only to be told I was a stressed mum of 5 and there was nothing wrong if only they had listened to me,as it is we are now on the nhs waiting list for a autistic diagnostic interview which I have been told will last a couple of hours the problem is we have been on the list since august 2011 and i have been told he is not going to be seen for a least another 9 months as nhs is so short staffed they haven't even seen anyone on that list for a couple of months,I was told by the nhs I could go private if I wanted but they are refusing to give me anin information on where to go,I feel I should not have to go down this route but if it will help my son I'm prepared to do anything,if anyone has any information on where I could go for this I would be very grateful,I live in Peterborough but would travel else where if needed,thanks Charlie x

  • Thanks for taking the time to read my comment,I'm not really sure how to take your reply though,I think it is very wrong to be in a position that I feel I have to pay private for help with my son it does seem people with money get treated first but I am not someone with a lot of money I have 5 children and me and my husband work very hard to support our family,but if this means my son and my family get the help and support we need then it is something I'm willing to do.My son does suffer on a daily basis at secondary school which they are not supportive as we have no diagnosis as yet so are not willing to put things in place for him,taking him out of school would only make him more isolated from society which I do not believe is a good thing,thanks for your reply.

  • Take him out off school if he is "really" suffering,  and then see how fast he gets his diagnosed and moved up the queue. The Private route can be paid by the NHS, I am sure as a nice little earner from the taxpayer to pay for another consultant new yearly black merc with private reg. Remember private is an elitist gap economical access advantage system based on corruption (money to get treated first), imagine if your kid had cancer and you could pay private for treatment. Private is going a satanic route were concern and welfare for society is given over to privilege. If you go private, tell the doctors from me, they are scum of demons, betrayal of kind for coin. They would be the first to be gased, as they serve themselves privately against the public good, WHICH IS THERE OATH.
