Least and most preferred transport type

Part 1

If you have the choices:

1. Car (you drive)

2. Taxi

3. Bus

4. Train

Which is the least preferred one? And, do you know why?

Part 2

And from all possible types of transport (not just the 4 above) which is your most preferred one? And, do you know why?

  • Taxi because the last few times the driver wouldn’t stop talking and kept asking me personal questions — there was no easy escape. 

    My own car is my preferred form of transport because I am in control and my personal space is protected.

  • If I’m going fairly local then driving myself as I know the routes so no nasty surprises but if too far someone else driving that I can comfortably chat to. If we include legs as transport then preferably walking above all else because it’s less stressful and you have more control over when and where you can go. 

  • Part 1

    Taxi. I don't want to be forced into a confined space where I have to make small talk with a complete stranger.

    I was in an Uber in Spain during the summer. The driver said "Hola" and then didn't speak another word for the whole 30-minute trip. Bliss. 5 stars.

    Part 2

    I like walking. It makes me feel good. NC earbuds help with the traffic noise.

    Subway/Underground/Metro because I like the orderliness of the maps and the whole process and I like popping up out of the ground in a new place.

  • For me, it is:

    Least liked: bus. Due to uncertainty of times of arrival, or unexpected events happening (Like missing my stop, or bus driver going too fast etc.)

    Most liked: cycling and next trains.
