Just wondered if people on here are happy or unhappy at the general election result last week? I stayed up most of the night to watch the results come in.
It would be wonderful if we could have a calm, logical, reasoned political discussion on here that doesn't result in anger, name calling and the mods locking the thread

Yes. I feel like we have people in charge now who don't believe in playing games with people's lives.
They are not perfect, but no one is. However, I expect that we will get more positive results from this bunch than we saw from the previous government for many years. With them, it seemed to be one nasty thing after another.
It's going to take time to see any impact, but I feel optimistic about the country for the first time in ages.
I'm 27 now, and I was 12 when Labour were last in power. It's one of those welcome changes.
