Does anyone else on here like doing study courses?

Anyone else like being a student either in person at a university or at an online university.

If so what are your fav subjects:

Mine are all arts based courses.

  • I often get stuck on certain subjects and exercises.  It's a fact of life that some things are just plain difficult and it's not our fault if we don't understand it.  A way to get confidence back is to do a refresher course on something easier and pass it with flying colours.

  • I started retaking the quantum field theory course I did at uni, since all the materials are online, but got stuck on one of the exercises because I couldn't remember how to integrate something. Calculus refresher is a pleasant diversion before I go back to it :)

  • Heh maybe we should run some sort of online study group

  • I'm currently redoing a complex analysis course I did with the OU in 1993.  I still have all the course units.

For those of you whose maths skills are not very good, complex analysis is the calculus of imaginary numbers.

  • I'm currently taking a course to refresh my calculus skills. It's fun!

  • I have lost count of how many online courses I've done, some a few hours others 9 month open university modules.

  • I.miss being a student in so many ways. To know that all you have to do is study, and whats  more that study has been broken down into manageable chunks and laid out in an order that helps you follow what’s going on. It’s like being fed a gormay meal while  someone cuts up your food  for you and feeds you it. Even being a PhD student isn’t so relaxed.

I mean exams. I miss exams. Imagine if your success or failure was entirely in your control and not dependent on luck or other peoples cooperation. Image the problems between you and success were problems you could be sure you’d already been given everything you need to solve.

imagine you got to practice solving the problems on the road to success before you had to do it under pressure. 6 months of your life validated in a few weeks knowing it’s only the exam that matters, how you prepare is your choice and no one is looking over your shoulder.

i studied maths and science and tbh I miss it.

  • Oh yes, I like learning specially new things. I'd like to learn cooking, gastronomy because I really enjoy tasting things and exploring with new tastes. Also, I like to eat amazing food but I can't afford a personal chef or terribly fancy food all the time. Also art for sure!. Maybe horse riding, calligraphy or being part of a scout group and learning about surviving in nature
