Autism and relationships

I went with a couple of women, from the autistic women’s group that I run, to a talk this morning about ‘Autism and relationships’. There were only 5 of us in attendance so there was a lot of discussion as well as listening to what the lady presenting the talk was saying. I found the talk really insightful. So many things made so much sense. Such as how coaching is better than counselling for autistic people; How when we’re really stressed out we don’t actually have room in our brains to think rationally; how we need to remember to tell others (if we live with others) of our plans for the day otherwise they won’t know (this still doesn’t always occur to me ‘in the moment’). There wasn’t anything that I disagreed with in that talk at all.

Has anyone else been to any good Autism talks or found any good resources?
