I have negative coping mechanisms for dealing with sadness and anxiety:
‘’daydreaming excessively
spending excessive hours on my ipad
staying in bed all day
positive coping mechanisms:
listening to quiet music’
spending a short amount of time watching tv or on ipad
going to the gym
taking a walk
calling a friend.
what are your coping mechanisms?
I ‘I really want to start working again but find working so stressful and trying to find out what coping mechanisms might help.
I consume large amounts if sugar and caffeine at my desk which you shouldn't do obviously
I suggest a quiet walk to work rather than public transport or drive. A book or music or ambient noise on the headphones if possible.
