Polish children with ASD

Hello,

Are there any Polish mums of ASD children? I would be grateful for any contact.

Many thanks

  • Good to know Pani Magdo Slight smile

Our 4yo daughter has been diagnosed with ASD last year and we've already gone through EHCP path (educational psychologist stage at the moment), but Im wondering what else can we do for her? Is there any specialist that could support her? Any therapies available apart from speech and language? Id appreciate if you could help!

    Pozdrawiam

  • Sorry for my late reply. Busy time at work. That's good that your daughter has been diagnosed being only 4. Can you tell me what is the educational status of your daughter ( specialist nursery, private tuitions etc.?). There are so many approaches available at the moment for children with autism. Apart from speech and language sessions are you guys using anything? have you heard about the SCERTS Model or ABA? please feel free to PM me if you need more info

    regards,

    Magda

  • Hi,

I know what you mean. It is frustrating. There are different approaches to tackle different issues. Some of them help to cope better and to understand the emotions. Children with autism struggle with recognising emotions and feelings. One of the approaches to help to understand them is The SCERTS Model.

Other approaches are focusing on challenging behaviour, communication etc. It is very important to implement some of them as early as it is possible.
