Not receiving e-mail notifications?

Am I the only one who is not receiving notifications when someone has posted to a thread that they are subscribed to?

  • Not had any for many months - I've given up asking - the system obviously doesn't work properly and how many times does it take to fix something.

  • I have all of them enabled, but I haven't received a single email. I thought I had done something wrong. But I checked now and every box is ticked including the one for enabling emails

  • We have been working on this. We have not found a problem as such, but the service that sends notifications was restarted, and this may have resolved it. We're continuing to investigate, so please carry on updating this thread with any new information about notifications arriving.

  • The dam has burst!  The first 149 notifications have just arrived - I assume many, many more to follow.

Thanks to whoever fixed the issue.  Smiley

  • Still nothing - and not going to spam - this is exactly as it was last time.

  • We're trying to look into it - including whether we're again falling foul of Spamcop etc, which Cassandro mentioned previously. Forums do seem to be prone to this kind of thing - I think it was you who mentioned a similar problem on another site. It remains the case that, once an email goes out of our systems, we don't really have control over its delivery, even if there are things we can do to help.

  • Still nothing - and not going to spam - this is exactly as it was last time so I suspect there's been an update somewhere.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm on outlook.com - maybe there's a reason why they are either not being sent by this site or being rejected by the outlook e-mail server.

  • I've heard back, and the previous problem does not appear to be recurring, i.e. the process that sends out the emails is running as expected. Nonetheless, they are clearly not arriving consistently for all our users. Please let me know if the situation changes, and notification emails start (or stop!) arriving. Please do also check your Spam or similar folder in case emails are being misidentified. We'll continue to investigate.

  • Still no update?

    Still no e-mail notifications.  Disappointed

  • I've raised this with our suppliers. We previously put an alert in place, so I am trying to find out whether that is working, and whether the problem this time is the same. I am aware of the reports over the summer.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

  • This is a regular occurrence on here - something has probably been updated - when they fixed it last time it was like unplugging Niagara Falls - hundreds of the stopped-up e-mails arriving all at once.

  • I always check my spam folder.

In my inbox, I get a load of unsolicited emails from this site.  But some of the discussions I am involved in, go to spam automatically.

  • We have fixed the issue with email notifications.

    Really?

    This problem repeats regularly.

  • ...I forgot to add (here), that in order to post it has been as with the past three months, of having to change my password... AGAIN.

Keep on keeping on, everyone. Slight smile

  • I'm sorry for the delayed reply - I have been away from work.

    ...I am "DC" again!

I cannot believe that I am able to 'Log On' again even just once!

To Miss Fantastic-Fox, I am glad to be able to say that I am glad to see Your Good Self and others to be WELL!

This a reply directly at MR WEBPM (whom I am also very glad to see a return of). I hate to 'hijack' a Thread about a different topic, yet, as HACKERS may be watching, this may be My only shot...?

Please, Mr WebPM, have a look at the following  unrelated Threads - with Titles about "fake upvotes" and "Being Hacked Upon This Forum". I may post more if I can, but this may be my only opening here...

(...um, anyone else reading, please do not worry too much and do ignore if this sounds a bit too much like Action Film Dialogue or something...(!)...)

To Mr WebPM, I  did open another account, using a different EMAIL... but that also was "blocked" by whatever the Hacker did. They Hacked This Forum to Block My IP/MAC/ISP/"HANDSHAKE", or whatever you all call it nowadays: I use the same device and same BroadbandConnection and *that* is what is blocked.

This is all that I can deduce from My point-of-view with its LIMITED BUDGET/TECHNOLOGY... (!) So please have a look at that. If I can, I shall post this onto the Threads which I Mean.

Lastly, anyone else, PLEASE do not discuss this here; please discuss it upon the other Threads, I do very very much apologise... but I do not know even as I write this if I can even post it which is why I write it here direct to WebPM!

Good Tidings to all, as I always used to say, anyway.

  • Hi, it got resolved. Thank you for asking!

  • Kitsun

I'm sorry for the delayed reply - I have been away from work. Did you get this resolved? I think you understand the system quite well but, as I read things, you have disabled email notifications (in Settings - Notifications tab), but you still have Live Alerts enabled and are not seeing them?

  • and secondly, we have put an alert in place so that we would know quickly if the issue were to recur.

You said that you have put an alert in place so that you would know quickly if the issue were to reoccur.

For almost four-five days I did not get e-mail notifications and only today they arrived.

People had to write several times before someone even noticed.

  • I got a reply from the NAS:

    Dear Community User,

    .

Thank you for your email and raising this issue.

    .

I have contacted the suppliers of our platform and i have asked that they look into this problem. I will post an update on this thread https://community.autism.org.uk/f/miscellaneous-and-chat/16155/not-receiving-notifications-on-the-forum, as soon as i get a response from them.

Followed shortly thereafter by loads of email notifications of replies from the threads I had subscribed to!

So thanks to the NAS and the platform suppliers for sorting things out. :-)
