Does anyone know of any good quality Autism related social media accounts on the likes of Facebook or Twitter?
Ideally positive ones where they pass on any valuable tips or advice that they have discovered.
Unfortunately it seems to me that a lot of Facebook groups can be quite negative in their focus, I've recently left a number of social anxiety groups as they were mainly filled with people venting their problems all of the time, and not focusing on solutions. I mean, I understand that people need a safe space to express their problems and to vent, but I am looking for groups / pages / individuals with a positive and solution orientated outlook on all of this.
If anyone could post any good ones that they know of that really would be appreciated. Otherwise it seems that it can take months of trial and error to find good pages.
honestly facebook seems to be the best social media, especially if you want to keep up with anyone you knew.... everyone uses facebook thats why its the best... if you find another social media, likely you will struggle to find anyone you know that uses it... but everyone uses facebook...
It is also extremely cool to see content dedicated to autism or made by autistic people. I already follow several YouTube accounts that talk about this topic, and they are great. I wish they had more followers because more people should know what they are talking about. mythdhr
I was on a good group on Facebook called Asperger's UK it is a good source of information but as with any social media forums there are a lot of negative posts/sympathy hunters, I found that once I blocked posts from certain people that were posting negativity or sympathy hunting on a regular basis it made it much easier to find the good advice.
I found an amazing youtube channel 2 weeks ago www.youtube.com/.../featured
Purple Ella, autism Nottingham, How to ADHD.
Does anyone else know of any good You Tube Channels or anything?
So far the best ones I've found on You Tube have been Aspergers From The Inside and Yo Samdy Sam. Both channels are rammed full of valuable information, personal experiences, insights and advice. I'll probably get through every single video on both channels sooner or later. Some of them I've already watched a few times as they are so helpful. I'm also following Spectrumy on Facebook too which seems to be a good one.
Are there any others which any one particularly likes?
Thank you!
