Does anyone else do this?

Hi guys, just a quick question out of curiosity...

I'm autistic, and every time I do something such as cooking a certain recipe, for the day or two leading up to me making it, I always have to go online and watch five or six videos of people making that particular dish, even if I know exactly how to make it and don't need to watch any videos about it. It's almost as if I'm getting my mind in frame for making the meal.

It's the same for if I get a McDonald's or something of that sort, I'll always watch a few videos of someone eating the particular meal I'm having, even when I know exactly what it tastes like.

So my question is, people, does anyone else do something similar to me?

Thanks guys!

Jake

  • Yeah it's sort of getting me ready for the process of cooking the meal, if I don't go through the steps of watching videos on the certain thing first, it almost feels like I haven't had the full experience. It's weird. Almost feels like arriving at a concert 10 minutes before the end.
