Mishear & Misread

Does anyone else suffer from my problems?

Where I mishear or misread something.

The latest incident is a BBC website  article, where I initially read.

Call to exclude pupils with ASD.

It actually read.

Call to test excluded pupils for ADHD.

Very different!

I often watch DVDs with subtitles.  And when I'm unsure of what was said or written I rewind and listen/read again.  And the second time round it's different.

  • I certainly do this with reading things. I often do things similar to your example of the article. I also often read names incorrectly. Its like I see the initials and fill in the gaps without properly reading it. Then I look back and go oh that was a completely different persons name. Maybe it is to do with processing? I'm not sure.

I don't think I have as much difficulty mishearing things but I do sometimes miss chunks of information.
