Note by WebPM: I have split this off from the photography thread partly to make this discussion more accessible to others who have questions, and partly to keep the other thread on topic.)
...Finally, this is to WebPM. I may Post again, though. But after 3, 4 attempts to find WebPMs Post, I could not, and then I recall a thing said by MrRobert123, in that Replies Change depending upon how a Thread is entered, and so I clicked upon the Thread TITLE, instead of any reply (from the HOME Screen... and now I finally see your Reply, Mr.WebPM.
(I wanted to keep this Thread about Pictures, but then that happens, and so I Post it here, as it happened, rather than my previous Thread. Excuse Me.)
EDIT - From DC: This Post now does not entirely make sense, when used as a Starting Post or as an Introduction. To anyone reading, Please ignore the sentence here which says that this Thread is "about pictures", for THIS Thread is not about pictures at all..!! Most of all, Please see the first *Real* Post from myself, below. I myself can only wait to see what other people (including NAS) do regarding this Thread...
WebPMs Reply, missing from the Pictures Thread I began.
WebPMs Reply is visible here.
After entering the Thread from the Title, as Per suggestion from MrRobert123 upon NAS' own Thread.
...So, Mr WebPM, about those "To Bottom" and "Back To Top" Buttons, Please and Thank You Kindly...?
...I Post these here, since that Pictures Thread is sort of trying to be more about picures and not about missing posts, Thank You again.
As I've noted above, I've split this topic off. I've also moved some messages from the forum problems thread. Using separate threads for distinct topics is likely to help everyone, for the reasons I stated. We are talking about difficulties in locating messages in threads, and it's also helpful for that, because it's easier to lose messages in very complex threads with lots of sub-topics. That's actually true, I believe, in any forum system, however it presents threads - it's just hard to keep track if several conversations are going on at once.
Anyway, to summarise, I currently understand this as a problem of locating messages that are hidden behind "Load Next" and "Load Previous" links. I have not seen a thread in which I could not find a message at all, although sometimes it was not as straightforward as I would hope. Those links are intended to make threads load more quickly, by only loading the thread section of most interest, although that's clearly not working well for everyone here.
To respond to the comments above, following a link to a thread title from, for example, the home page will take you to the top of the thread. If it's a long thread, you may need to Load Next or Load Previous to see some parts. Clicking on "Latest 3 hours ago" (or whatever) on the home page or similar will take you directly to the new message, in its context part-way down the thread.
I'm aware that we've lost a few images from this thread that were intended to illustrate potentially-missing posts. We're due to apply an update early tomorrow to resolve the problem with that happening to images.
Replied as this was proving difficult to find by a forum user when using the red link.
The very fact there are now four separate threads pointing out variouse issues with this forum is proof enough things need looking into as to just what kind of service is being offered,?
THIS POST *HERE* IS ACTUALLY MY OWN FIRST POST TO THIS THREAD.
If anyone reads this... this is posted at around a Quarter-to-One in the morning, and I myself am both confused and quite cross about it. It is not a good idea to Post whilst cross (!), and so I may post something better tomorrow... if I can at all.

When changes to a Thread are made in this way, then Quotes confuse things in this way. WebPMs words are as if mine, yet I did not create this Thread.

This last quote is true in all aspects. But I am signing off now... and if anyone is confused, then, well, it is not my fault.
Thank You mostly to Mr.LoneWarrior - I could not see this Thread in the "Recent Posts" section until LoneWarrior replied! If anyone is curious, I recommend pressing the "Forum Problems Thread" as stated in that second quote. (To WebPM, I am not ungrateful, even though it sounds like it. I just do not know what to do about this *just now*... at almost One In The Morning...!)
The Original Title of this Thread, as Created by WebPM was:
Disappearing messages?? (from the Photography And Pictures thread)
...I try to Rename it thusly:
Disappearing Messages/Posts, 2018. (EDIT.)
...If my renaming it is not liked, then well, I consider it an Even Retort. I myself knew that the Topic of Disappearing Posts as a "New Thread", would be short or difficult or forgotten... and so I did not separate it from all of the other currently raised Issues. I also edited/removed the last sentence of that introduction, because this Thread may feature some pictures, as requested, yet it is *not* about Pictures, Thank You.
This is one of the current "Problems Threads", which also has a link to another one of NAS' older "Problems Thread":
... This is also a direct link to WebPM's advice at the time, concerning the topic of this Thread. WebPM requested information and/or pictures of missing replies... and so That is what the Pictures are of in this Thread. All correspondence may be Posted here, or sent by PM (Private Message), or maybe by EMail, to NAS.
Finally, To NAS: I was and still a little am, somewhat put out (i.e. discomfited or annoyed)... by at least the starting of a Thread in my name without asking me? Please do not do that again, Thank You. I support this Thread now, especially as WebPM states a genuine need for it... yet as I say, I do not expect many (Non-Private Message) contributions, here, and I can only "Post" because I myself can neither EMail nor PM.
Pictures of my own missing message, from yesterday/2 days ago:
...Next picture, with my message visible:
...My message was only visible via entering the Thread via the TITLE and then going all the way (way, way, way) down.
Pictures of the same conversation, progressed on, for today (Friday 23rd March):
My message missing, note the RED highlight next to WebPM's message; this indicates my having entered via a Link to the Message:
The same area, then entered via the Top/TITLE:
My message is visible upon the second view, from the Title.
...This was a nice, regular pattern of Messages - LW, DC, WebPM, LW, DC, WebPM - and so the results were easier to suspect and so to find, as Posted there. Hope this is useful, Mr WebPM? And Thank You to yourself and to Mr. LoneWarrior, of course.
Extra Notes: It does not matter if one is logged in or not, and it is not only one's own messages which disappear.
...If asked, I and others may - again - re-post names and links and experiences of... Threads which display the same behaviour most often... again.
