Greetings to all who read. I state first a thing that all should know: This NAS Forum is currently experiencing Errors which cause entire Posts to disappear and appear at random... once a Thread passes a certain length.
(...And if NAS happens to be reading... please start a new "Feedback" Thread, okay? I am asking you politely, here where you cannot miss it.)
...Apart from that, this is (an attempt at) a new Miscellaneous Topic Thread. Thank You Kindly.
Given that this Internet business sort of allows conversation with strangers... there are some weird questions I have often thought of asking. Brace yourselves, this really is weird...
Which way does the Toilet face in your house? And which way does the Entrance face?
Mine (Family house) faces sort of East-South-East. And the main enterance is North. I suppose this is a sort of "Feng Shui" question, and it is to do with "fortune" and some Races & Persons will only live in a home which meets certain criteria, and some countries they will only build houses in a certain way...
Hi DC,not sure which way ours faces,I will find out a compass and let you know.
older style houses seem to follow in lines and quite often fit with exhisting buildings, grid style layouts.
Modern houses seem to be more random, are varied in style and looks, often have different brick colours and roof tiles, often same style and size properties have totally different sized gardens or none at all.
So I think most houses are random in which way the front door faces!
shear luck if it points to suit fang shui ideals.
for me an ideal dwelling would be small, cosy,,remote and hand built. Made with natural materials, thatched roof, cob walls, dirt floor, wooden doors and window shutters, no glass,
or one big communal tippee, fire in the centre and everyone around the outer sides, bliss,,,sigh, or a log cabin on a hill, or a tree house up high at one with nature,
My house faces west but the front door is through a sort of porch bit attached to the front which makes the front door (and the back door as it happens) face south. This is lucky, from a 'Feng Shui' point of view because the stairs inside the house face the front of the house and I've heard that it's unlucky if your stairs face straight out your front door!
The upstairs toilet faces south-east. The downstairs one faces north. I've heard that in Feng Shui it's unlucky to leave your toilet lid open because it means that the wealth of the residents will disappear down the toilet - sounds about right!! (My partner never remembers to put the lid down.)
Goodness, and Thank You to Replies so far, again...very much!...
I wondered if I should put in that Post, the fact that, if anyone lacks a Compass, then basically, the Rising Sun and Moon are East, and that compasses may be foiled in proximity to large Magnetic Sources in a City...
...But it is getting late (02.30 AM), and I might sign off after this.
(An Astronomy Thread, is yet another of the multitudes I think of starting. Astrology is different. And so is Feng Shui. And so is The Paranormal. And so is... etc.etc... I still think about that ASCII Thread a lot, though... and the fact that "rambling" here is a good indicator that I should do well to sign off just now...?)
I live in a rented flat. There are three very similar blocks close together.
My number is 35. There is no number 13, I've checked.
The front door to my block faces west.( When I'm looking from the inside).
The door to flat faces south. (When I'm looking from the inside)
When I'm sitting on my loo I am facing north.
Again, Thanks to all answers given thus far. Where I live (South London), there is a major Hospital, through which I often shortcut. The Public Toilets face East-South-East, and when I was an in-patient once, the Private lavatories faced the same way... I have no friends (!), yet in my youth, all of the houses and schools I attended, the lavatories all faced East-South-East...
...This is why I was wondering if it was the same for everyone...! Thanks for stating otherwise. With regards to Entrances, I can see those only in my own area. I may Post again, when I think of another "crazy" Topic... (apart from asking if your walls are made of Calcium or Magnesium, for instance...)
