Do you get angry? I get angry. A "friend" of mine is making me angry today. If you get angry then this is the thread to let off steam. All those irritating NT's winding you up. You'd like to bury them in a shallow grave wouldn't you? *Hold on there is someone at the door**Sound of man being dragged away by White Coated individuals*
Feel better soon Debbie.
The dentist is a horrible environment when you've got autism. Sending vibes.
Work has been ok but I'm getting more and more tired. I've felt like I don't want to go in sometimes because I'm tired and feeling anxious.
But I have to work it's my first job and I was lucky to get it. I don't think I'd be so lucky again. I'm preserving and hoping the tiredness and anxiety will get better but at the moment it feels like it's here to stay.
I am sorry you had to endure such torture at the dentist today Debbie.
Thank you
I am sorry you had to endure such torture at the dentist today Debbie. I hope it won't cause you any lasting damage and or trauma.
I have always found it intriguing as well as confusing that dentists will make casual small talk when examing and treating people.
It's a time when most are petrified and unable to communicate due to having their mouths prodded and poked.
Dentists are the greatest monsters of them all.
Just my opinion, though I do believe many would tend to agree.
Dare I ask what her answer was?
That's a great question to have asked. Whilst it might not be a pleasant sight for hygienists when a patient's oral hygiene is poor, I'm sure it must give them a sense of satisfaction when the patient leaves with the inside of their mouth looking so much better than when they arrived.
This has tickled me.

That is hilarious
I am logging off the PC now, but with that question in mind, I will be doing so with a smile.
Thank you for cheering me up.
Wishing you, and Sparkly + everyone reading, a goodly evening.
When they talk to us...questions, anything.

What, the monitor bleeping, the medical questions or the foreign accent?

Thank you.
We need dentists but my goodness, it's not an enjoyable experience!
Which reminds me, recently, I had another eye injection (wet macular degeneration) in my local hospital.
After the injection, while still on the bed, I was asked how it was?
I said 'delightful, the highlight of my week' and everyone laughed.
I wonder if they do it to try and take your mind off things
This has reminded me of a visit I made to the dentist on Friday. As my next visit will involve conscious sedation, and I had mentioned I have low blood pressure, the dentist hooked me up to a monitor to check my blood pressure.
Whilst the monitor is busy bleeping, the dentist decides this is the perfect time to ask me some medical questions. Not helping matters was that she had a strong foreign accent, spoke very quickly, and also very quietly. The bleeping monitor made it impossible for me to focus on what the dentist was saying.
I've often wondered how dentists can decipher what their patients are saying when their mouths are full of those 'instruments of torture'.
Anyway, I am sorry that your visit to the dentist proved to be torturous in more ways than one.
Why, whilst I was sitting in my dentist's chair today in the midst of a torture session, did she believe I also needed the added agony of a radio playing whilst she was also talking to me and expecting answers whilst my mouth was full of the said instruments of torture?
Sorry to hear this x
Very few workplaces are understanding and supportive of autistic people and the things we struggle with.
My work cannot manage to put in place even the smallest reasonable adjustments, then seemed surprised when it makes me struggle. WTAF is wring with them?
I've seen a throat and nose specialist and I've been put on the list for a biopsy for my throat and that's really worrying me. I've had a sore throat for ages and now it's looking like there's something occurring with the chronic tonsillitis. Very very worried.
Another thing is that my roof is leaking so I'm getting water in to my spare room which is wrecking the ceiling and carpet! I got quoted a lot to fix so I'm going to put on my DiY hat and look at fixing this myself.
On a positive note though I've more less lost my voice so at least I don't have to worry about talking to people anymore ;)
So one of my pet hates is when delivery drives block the entrance to the place i am trying to get to while they are 'unloading'.
I just popped out at work came back to find some TW@T blocking the entrance to the car park while he was unloading a stack of boxes.
Today is NOT the day to *** with me sunshine. I just turned off my ignition blocking him in and told him to come find me when he has finished being an ignorant (i know what i want to say but restrain has to be implemented here) person!!!!!
I do the same.
I hope you are feeling a little (or a lot, preferably) better x
That's what I've been doing.
