hello nas forum

hello I am newly coming to terms with being autistic waiting for diagnosis

looking back on my life events and more and more details make sense now realising autistic

looking for connections support understanding with condition

its hard getting the right support i find to support with condition understanding it validating experiences learning with benefits housing any help really besides the internet because due to the nature of our condition we are unlikely to be connected to or know someone to help

at my assessment i want to ask about finding someone who will help me with providing evidence for benefits

how is everyone and what is your story?

  • Hello, and welcome. You're in good company. This is what many of us have experienced at the point of diagnosis, suddenly realising something was different or special or challenging and the reason why.  Some feeling so elation, disappointment, despair and sometimes increased feeling of disability.   Not sure whether to hope for a diagnosis or not, because each result leads to more questions.

  • Yes. Noticing the sensory differences in my body for the first time in my life was very distracting, for a good few weeks I had to completely get used to being in my body again finally aware of how different I was and what I felt and didnt in my body
