  • One more thing..... The ‘New’ media was actually invented by ASD folk. As was anything that has changed the world over history of humanity. Indeed - the world stands on autistic shoulders. The NTs are tooooooo social to actually get anything useful done. They’d be swinging in the trees still or living in caves if it wasn’t for the ASD gene

  • I like this ‘autistic supremacy’ idea :-)

like we actually focus on the task and complete it to a high standard rather than bothering to talk to everyone

on a serious note though. Forums like this do bring people of similar brain wiring together and allow them to swap experiences, this forum has been an absolute godsend to me since I was diagnosed. Also, while I know @Wavey doesn’t like social media per se. I have started up my own local group for women on the spectrum and I only found this possible by utilising Facebook. So social media has allowed me to create a resource and bring people together for therapeutic benefit.

  • I didn’t know autistic supremcey was that. I thought it was something else.

I do know that I had a deeper understanding of how things work than my teachers at school. While they were trying to figure out basic astronomy - I was figuring out cosmology. They were adults, I was 9.... They still don’t know. Lol

only an autistic can truly understand the universe or better termed, multiverse. M Theory, Supersymmtry etc etc

  • Yes which is great...

From my perspective though - we did have groups, away from FB. I ran a forum which was active and other forums that were once very active say, ten years ago. It was awesome. Problem is - Facebook has slowly swallowed them all up. So most are no longer available, UKPaddlesports has gone, SUPUK has gone, the list goes on. All the members now solely use fb instead. It’s like what Tesco have done to small independent shops. So now friends can’t even be bothered to look at other sites if they aren’t somehow connected to Facebook. Facebook actually owns the UK and USA. You could say that fb owns the whole western culture. And now it’s eating away at eastern culture too. In Bangladesh they’re actually slaughtering people solely based on fb false posts. The Bandkedesh folk don’t even know about the rest of the WWW & the believe that the internet IS Facebook.
