Just to say hello - I was diagnosed with ASD before Xmas, and am 46. I wasn't surprised by the diagnosis, but have been going through a range of strong emotions since, especially sadness for things past. Anyway, I don't know anyone else with ASD, as far as I am aware, so I thought I would say hello.

    Hi. I was diagnosed last summer and I’m over 60. It has helped me in many ways, but I have a whole kaleidoscope of different emotions. Mainly I’m relieved though. I see you are called musical 101. Do you like music? I’m a classical musician who likes a wide range of music.

    Yes, I'm very relieved too. I'm finally able to understand why I have had such difficulties and can stop endlessy struggling with myself.

    I research aspects of nineteenth-century music and poetry on music.

    So we share a similar relief! I had a lifetime of being misdiagnosed, now I can actually help myself. I’m sad it wasn’t sorted out earlier, but then I think most people live with regrets. Music is my obsession, I think. It’s good as it’s not an obvious one!!
