Asd struggles

I'm struggling quite a lot with my asd at the moment. I recently lost my job and my anxiety is through the roof! I don't have any friends and I still live with my parents. They try to help but they don't really understand me. I've been to the doctors for help with my asd but they just keep trying to put me on medication. I can't take medication because of the side effects. Really don't know what to do. I feel totally alone right now.

  • Hi CuddlyHugs,

Sorry to hear that you're struggling, and about your job and anxiety. Have you been formally diagnosed with ASD? If not, this would be a huge step in getting you more understanding and helpful forms of support.

There's also support groups that you could join, depending on whereabouts you live. You can find different services/outlets near you using our online directory: https://www.autism.org.uk/directory

    Best wishes,

  • Hello Kevin. Sorry for my late reply, I was in a mental health unit and had no access to the internet. Yes I have a diagnosis but I still feel alone and get no support from anybody that's why I decided to come here to meet some people in the same boat. It might help me.
