Just came across this on a LinkedIn post, thought it maybe helpful:
"Pay attention to your breath. Imagine the muscles in your chest relaxing right now...
How does that change your breathing?
More importantly, how does that change YOU?
When my anxiety starts to ratchet up, I catch myself holding my breath...
Cutting off the oxygen my brain needs to deal with everyday stuff...
Shutting down the most essential mechanism of life itself.
Breath State = Life State
I'm learning to build "breathing check-ins" into my day, because answering the question "how am I breathing" is a LOT simpler than answering, "how am I feeling?"
AND because when I allow my breathing to become more relaxed, I become more relaxed too."
