Is it normal for people on the spectrum to under report symptoms to their GP.
I find that I'm constantly doing this.
Don’t know, I can only speak of my own experience. It depends what symptoms you are talking about.
I have given up telling my GP anything about autism and co-occurring symptoms. Same goes for mental health services. They are both wholly incognisant of anything to do with autism. Might just as well ask the dog or the goldfish in the garden pond.
It's just that I have lost weight and feeling tired all the time and when i went to my gp i forgot to tell them the symptoms.
It was a mental health review and I was more concerned about that. They are going to arrange blood tests and a consultation.
That sounds like something a GP could help with. I hope you mange to sort it out quickly.
Apologies to all dogs and goldfish for suggesting they are equally inept in dealing with matters autistic as GPs and mental health services.
