My name is Rhea and I'm a third year Product Design Engineering student. My brother has autism, which has inspired me to develop a home product to help individuals on the Autism Spectrum with exercising. Exercising has shown many benefits with ASD and I have several questions related to exercise that would really help my research, and I would welcome your opinion on several questions including the difficulties individuals with ASD face with physical activity. If you are diagnosed with ASD or know anyone with ASD who is 18 or over, I have a survey for that.
I hope to make a positive impact and help people with ASD, and your answers would mean a lot to me! Feel free to message if you would like the link to the survey or have any questions. Thank you in advance.
Why has no one mentioned that people with Autism can have problems with balance and co-ordination? and that for those, exercise can be extremely challenging, will your studies also be looking at these factors?
Even though the best surfer in the world today is autistic. :)
Marzo is a marvel to watch. It's like he's got magnets stuck on him in this video. Board turning round, half his balance leaning into the water, and a wave to contend with.
Around the 0:40 - 0:60 mark on the video, he almost breaks the laws of reality. Gravity mastered!
I'm not saying autistic people don't struggle with balance and co-ordination. Marzo says he feels more comfortable on water than land, he struggles more there!
Great to see someone living their dream too!
Here’s me and my friend living the dream last Thursday :)
Both of us ND & both living the dream
I’m gutted that we can’t upload vids here :(
