I would like to become self-employed.
I am so tired to be all the time in an open plan office. This is like torture to me. I feel like a prisoner who is imprisoned.
How can I become self-employed?
Can you help me with ideas, please?
Thank you very much!
IT is definitely something you can do self-employed. It's a big field so there are lots of areas for you to choose from. You might be able to find a company who lets you work from home for them a few days a week or even all the time. That could be a way to avoid the office but still have the benefits of being employed. If you do want to have your own business it would be helpful if you are organised and motivated. I think there are some grants available to help people who want to start their own business. You could start teaching yourself some new skills and then make a start before giving up your job to reduce the chances of running out of money.
You need to have a skill that is really in demand and be absolutely sure of that. It can be tough though. It can be very a insecure way to live.
I can’t offer any specific advice, other than make sure you are aware of the regulations of the industry you wish to become self-employed in (for example in my industry I have to apply for a separate licence in order to practice from home). Here are some websites that may help you in terms of how to become self-employed and what it entails longer term:

That sounds like a good idea. I'm a self-employed music teacher so I know it can work better for someone on the spectrum.
Maybe you can think about what sorts of skills you have, or would like to have, that you could offer. Then research websites in that field to get an idea of how self-employment in that field works. That's what I did.
Have you discussed this issue with your firm? Reasonable adjustments may be able to resolve this, without having to leave the firm. Essentially, it involves setting up a new company. Agreed that it can be unpredictable.
Have a look at setting up as a sole-trader. Check out the government website, but remember self employment can be unpredictable financially - good luck!
