The following website offers great service.
A phone number that says:
"trueCall38 is handling my calls. I prefer not to be contacted by phone, so please contact me via my email address. Goodbye!".
This is very helpful.
I think other autistic people could benefit from this service.
Thanks for posting this, California. A useful resource.
E-mail for me - if it's urgent. Otherwise, letter. Letter-writing is an art that needs to be kept alive!
I had an awful job trying to persuade my brother of this preference, and of the reasons for it. He couldn't get it, though. 'I prefer to speak to someone properly.' Well... in that sense, maybe it's good that we no longer have any contact.
I always experience high anxiety levels when opening new threads.
Thank you for saying Thank you to me. This means a lot to me!
I like and prefer E-mail. Even E-mail sometimes make me really anxious.
Letters are also good.
The worst for me are phones and face to face.
I also need time process the information, think about everything carefully and prepare a response.
I strongly prefer email. I can do phone calls if I initiate them and I have written down everything I want to say in advance, but it still makes me anxious. D: Email gives you plenty of time to respond and the option to go back and edit it before you send. Much better!SMS is ok too.
This is so cool! I have to find something like this here as forms are not going to accept that format - way too long. But thanks for the suggestion, it would never have crossed my mind that something like this exists!
Thank you for letting me!
For me this works perfectly.
All forms accept the number.
You can simply drop the last 8, if it is too long.
Well, phone numbers here are only 8 digits long altogether, and they don't start with a zero either. Forms do usually not accept numbers like this, they also don't accept my old UK number, even though that's still perfectly valid and usable.
Post. I'm very computer literate and computers are quicker plus more convenient. I have a filing system in my house that goes back years though and posted letters fit into that system. I don't want to change it and I can find everything in it.
I tend to ignore communications in whatever form. Most mail and emsil is junk and wont open it.I dont answer telephone calls and forget what is said face to face.
But I manage to survive somehow!
I’m more for emails but even they freak me out sometimes. It’s interesting, or not, that nobody has yet voted for face to face or telephone contact
Thank you for the link.
I have just voted in your poll (choosing e-mail) and find it interesting that phone and face to face are both zero percent.
I agree with Martian Tom about letter writing.
