Yes I am a woman in my early fifties, newly diagnosed with ASD, having survived so far.
Here I am too - I’m a female in my late 20s diagnosed a few years ago....
Wrote all about it here: www.thelauraproject.co.uk/.../

26 year old female here :) There are plenty of us about!
There does seem to be that bubble out there!...
I don't know is the short answer but I would imagine that the majority are either in the process of being diagnosed - your dreaded waiting list - or (very) recently diagnosed. I have only been going to the group for a year or two but even in that short time I have noticed an increase in the proportion of women although I was still surprised by the figure - maybe some women use the services of the group but for various reasons don't attend open events / activities.
One of the women (I am a man) suggested the different prevalence may be due to women being diagnosed later in life (although I wasn't diagnosed myself until I was 50.)
Thanks for sharing that...were they all diagnosed women btw.. or on that dreaded waiting list?
You may find this hard to believe but when my local autism support group carried out their latest analysis of the people using the group there were 4 women for every 5 men although I understand the figure is more like 1 for every 9 UK wide.
Thank you
And men of coarse!
but as you asked specifically, I also joined last summer and have met very special people who always help when help is needed.
you all know who you are.!
we support each other when the darkness comes calling.
x()x
That made me smile!
But yes, I can confirm that, you are heard.
... well I speak, anyhow!
Welcome aboard
43years old, the pieces clicked last summer... joined here (which is a great and supportive space with fab women)... This is where I speak and am heard! x
Thank you very much :-)
Hello, I'm female as well, I'm 51 and received my diagnosis this week having been assessed mid feb.
Welcome.
Hello! I signed in 4 minutes ago. You are not alone :-) I´m 64 and got my diagnosis four years ago. A little late.
It seems to me as though there are more women than men here on the forum, at least among the people who post regularly, but I could be mistaken about that. Good luck with your diagnosis. I just got mine last year.
There are quite a few of us here and not necessarily in the minority on this forum! There have been a few similarly titled threads in the past month or two that you might find interesting until everyone is back online, you're definitely not alone : )
