Hi, new to the forums.
I am 36 and have high functioning Autism and require residential care. Because of a lack of suitable housing in the north/north east of England I have had to move 150 miles from my family home to a big city. I was just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in Harrogate that offers care for adults with high function Autism/Aspergers. There is a place called Aire House that purports to specialising in these areas but it turns out is simply for learning difficulties. Thanks in advance for any replies.
P.S. I have a little black lab who lives with me and comes as part of the package.
Thank you so much for your reply. I've sen most of the homes linked - unfortunately most of them tend to be more nursing homes but there are some I haven't come across before. I will get in contact with the Harrogate branch of the NAS too. Thanks again.
There is a local NAS branch in Harrogate (http://www.autism.org.uk/directory/resources/11229.aspx) and so it would be worth contacting the branch.
I found a few homes on the carehome.co.uk website:https://www.carehome.co.uk/care_search_results.cfm/searchunitary/Harrogate/searchchtype/autism-asd
I believe the groups listed on the following page are support groups but it might be worth a look:http://www.autismlinks.co.uk/support-groups#group-support-yorkshire-and-humberside
