Hi my 10 year old son has recently been diagnosed with Autism. I have been home schooling for the last year due to him being bullied in the school he was in. ( some off the kids were kicking him in the privates, punching him in the face on a daily bases becouse they had said sorry after doing it he always classed it as a accident) anyway due to him only recently being diagnosed I am finding it near on impossible to get a SEN report for a suitable school for him. He wouldn't be able to go to a mainstream as he is easily lead and does not realise when people are being nasty or taking the Mick and he has no sense of danger!
Hi NAS23476,
You may want to contact our Education Rights Service where information, support and advice is provided on educational provision and entitlements. Please see the following link for further information: http://www.autism.org.uk/services/helplines/education-rights.aspx
I'm sure they'll be able to point you in the right direction, but you may also find some other personal stories on the forum that are useful.
Wishing you and your son all the best.
