  • Ah okay, thanks for that - sounds like a good fun read!

Happy New Year to you !

  • Hi Alopochen!x

I like to read all kinds of things, but right now, I've been reading a few books by Torey Hayden. She's a psychotherapist that works with children, and writes about her experiences in the field with certain children. I find it's so interesting to immerse yourself in those classrooms and ride the emotional rollercoaster with Torey when dealing with really complex children. I'd definitely recommend "Ghost Girl" out of them all! I'll admit, I've never heard of P.G. Wodehouse before - could you explain it more to me?

I love all kinds of music to be honest - lately, I've been listening to a lot of Giorgio Moroder (apart from the Christmas songs haha!) Shania Twain and All Saints, but I think anyone would struggle to find a pattern if you went through my Spotify library xD

    Much love <3

  • Walking, beachcombing, making stuff.

  • Just one of my hobbies, restoring old tools,  I replace handles, clean file and polish rusty steel, varnish wood, repair broken parts.

WOW!  Proper tools! They all look beautifully balanced and well made by proper toolmakers, not mass produced tat you get in the big stores. Those tools have soul.

  • Hi Ellie sorry I missed your reply, how Rude! Yes I do,I have an electric saw but I tried it out and the pieces never seem to fit quite right Lol. It is called a scroll saw,

  • Well I am as usual struggling to sleep, so thought I would try to post a picture or two! I happen to like building things as well as fixing things, in the past I built a tandem for two. It works well, a bit tricky at first as balance is needed, but overall it worked very well, I haven’t any pictures of that so thought I would post a few of my sledge I built a couple of years ago, It works incredible well, and sits two adults, I intend building a mk2 model that is longer and narrower, The angle of the runners is very important as by leaning your body weight you can steer it.

suprised I got the angle right first attempt, well it works well anyway.

I built it to last and take a few crashes Lol.

so here it is( hopefully)when we had plenty of snow,

  • Thank you Lonewarrior, that means a lot to me and yes, it is when they try to force us into their idea of what we should be that we rub up against problems and it’s not acceptable.

You’re definiteky right, I’m lowering the highs, I really am, I actually have no choice but that’s a good thing, because I really needed to learn the lesson of taking things slowly and because I know how the universe works, in terms of the natural laws, the real laws, I know that when the time is right, things will move quickly, but by that point, I will be ready. My expectations are definitely changing but only in a way that I’m now meeting my own expectations, which are nothing like my fake nt type expectations which means I’ve got more clarity and solidness to them.

We are such beautiful people, with lots of wonderful and unique skills with a real appreciation for life and each other. For example, when I see old tools or old buildings, or even when I walk down streets and see the cracks in the pavements etc I always think of the people who built them, their lives and experiences and I have a real appreciation of them.

As Henry Ford said to his financial backers when his company started making millions, he wasn’t in it to make millions, but to offer the average man and woman the opportunity to experience more of the world, not turn his car into some great commercial money making business, squeezing more and more money out of people. He said the aim of technology was to enhance lives so people could enjoy more of the simple things in life, not to work like slaves just to get the latest ‘thing’.

We haven’t got it wrong. I’m not saying we’re right about everything but we do have beautiful tender kind loving hearts and we enjoy the simple things in life, the things that bring joy and happiness, not the things that make us look better than our neighbours. I won’t accept a world that denies who we are and I will fight for the ones who can’t, for whatever reason, because we are beautiful people and we have so many talents. Even nt’s don’t like their world a lot of the time. They walk around in such horrible moods and they just trample all over the earth like it’s dirt beneath their shoes when it’s the very thing that suppprts them. We don’t wish no harm on anyone, we just want to be who we are and if they gave us the chance, we would brighten their world’s as well.

    Tjank you xxx

  • Hi BlueRay I am glad you came here, you are indeed a free thinking being, my kind of being, honest, caring, full of questions, wanting to say stop tovall of the constructs of this crazy world,

We as a collective are all of the things you said and more, it is because we are expected to reshape ourselves that we suffer, being left to our own desires we would be pretty much fine.

take care and baby steps as we both know with huge highs the inevitable lows are not far behind, so lower the highs and maybe not so far to fall?

we will always be here for when anyone of us needs pulling up with a gentle offer of abhand.

  • My goodness, you are all so fricking interesting, not to mention amazing. There’s no wonder that if you put me in a room with a bunch of aspies, I’m in my element and if you put me in a room with a bunch of nt’s, I’m bored out of my brain and using all my energy to stop me from telling them what I think of them! What a truly wonderful bunch we are. Our only problem really is the rest of em! I think we make a wonderful colourful truly gorgeous gifted and talented community. As well as loving, caring, kind and compassionate even if we are self obsessed! I think that when we say self, it’s our collective self because we really do care for each other

    All aboard the train ;)

  • I used to live in Devon too, and Cornwall

  • So true. When I’m not crying in total anguish, and writhing around in pain (emotional), I do love being me and do I think we’re far more interesting than nt’s, or those that follow the rules anyway, although maybe that’s not true but nt life is dull and predictable.

The first thing me and the support worked are going to do, is write a list of all the things I want to achieve, from small to large and anything in between. Then she’s going to help me break it down and then break those things down again and take things slowly and at a pace that’s good for me. In effect I’m going to build me a foundation, then a structure, then decorate it with fun, love and a real connection to the real world. Meaning when I’m living in my van, and then my tiny house when we get our land, I will be closer to nature, I will feel the temperatures, know when it’s rainimg, cold or warm, smell the smells of nature, hear the sounds, hug the trees and be in control of who I interact with.

I like that, karmic wellies, but in truth, it’s been a joint effort today, you guys abs the wellies have calmed me right down and made me feel happy. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel again but this time, I’m being more realistic and because I’ve got no choice, I really am taking baby baby steps and that’s finally starting to feel ok :)

  • NT life is dull. predictable, necessary....sedated by societal constraints and fear of being our true selves.... *** that!

  • Glad you’ve had a good day....there are some amazing people here and very caring souls....

i have a massive bucket list and I hope one day I can start to tackle it.

i am glad you’re relaxed....a big thing to achieve so well done... karmic wellies!

I would live to dance, to walk, I’d love to be somewhere remote with a dog....

what are we looking for? LIFE, living.....a full experience, sights, smells and all x

  • Haha I said to someone the other night, my addiction is to ‘more’ lol!

I’ve been geocaching once and plan to do more. I recently started an art group but only managed 2 sessions so far although I think I’ll start a new one in the new year that sounds more suitable.

I love all the things you mentioned Eli, apart from technology. I don’t dislike technology, it’s just I think I would need someone to teach me.

I’ve just joined a ‘trace your family tree’ group. This was very good and we start again next year.

I like dancing but haven’t danced for a while.

I’ve been researching American history and recently Henry Ford and I’m on to Brunel now. I also recently studied Oscar Wilde and the romantics. I really enjoyed that.

I like Yoga and meditation. I do vipassana meditation and their courses are a dream for me. Total silence, no form of communication with anybody else, not even looking at them, a strict timetable where the gong gongs everytime you need to do something different, such as go for breakfast, go to meditate, go to bed etc.

I’ve also been attempting to learn French for god knows how many years. I like travelling and going to new places. Cycling.

I think what I want more than anything is to spend more time in nature on nice long walks and long cycle rides, painting/drawing and writing. And to get a little dog, a cute little poodle or something, they’re said to be the second most intelligent dogs and they don’t shed hair. And in between all that, do enough work to keep the wolves from the door, helping others like me and spreading awareness. Oh, and daily yoga, yoga nidri, meditation and some good old wholesome plant based whole foods. Eating a simple diet, a couple of times a day will do me. Actually, I could go on and on! Lol! My special interests change more than I change my clothes at present. My attention span is short, but that’s ok, I flip from one thing to another just now, but hey, I’m having a hard time, it’s early days.

And I love love love coming on here. I enjoy it all, the more so called ‘serious’ posts and the very funny ones.  I’ve been on here all day and I’ve had a good day. It’s much more than just socialising, I’m learning so much from all of you and feeling so much love and connection. Today I have been giving myself a break and allowing myself to relax, even though it feels like that’s all I do sometimes, but today has been different. I’ve also started to write a list of all the gains I’ve made since I got my diagnosis on the 30th October, and it’s pretty impressive. I’m not ignoring what I haven’t done or can’t do, but rather finding solutions for them and taking baby steps forward. I’m giving superwoman a break and enjoying super slob instead, it seems :-D

  • Do you have an iPhone? If so c:geo is not available to you. I have an iPhone and I use cachly. I really like it.
