Feeling relieved and overwhelmed

My 22 month old  son was diagnosed with autism yesterday!

I’m so thankful that he has been diagnosed so early and will start getting the support he needs, but on the other hand I’m an emotional wreak. I have been given so much information to read through but in all honesty I just want someone to talk you!

Please if anyone has any advice for me please get in touch x

  • Hi,

If it's any help, just look at all the fantastic support that is available nowadays:

Not just for your son but for you:

I wasn't diagnosed until I was over 50.....anf if I had only known then what I know now.

Society today is not only more accepting of those of us on the spectrum, but positively embracing.

However, your brains are probably fried from information right now, let alone the myriad of emotions you are probably experiencing.

There are some great people in here and you'll find support in many places.

For now, try and not look too far ahead: You'll be fine.

  • Hi there,

Sorry to hear how you feel. Hearing the news that your child has autism is a big shock, and it will take time to process. If you'd like to talk, I'd be happy to listen and discuss with you - as someone who has autism, I think I could help, so just send me a message!x

    Much love <3
