Whilst continuing my search for ways to decrease the noise I hear in today's (selfish) society, I came across QuietOn active noise-cancelling earplugs (https://quieton.com/). Does anyone on the forum own a pair? If so, please post a review in reply to this posting.
I know Bose are working on a pair of 'sleepbuds' (https://www.bose.com/en_us/better_with_bose/better_sleep.html) which take a different approach to QuietOn and are aimed at giving users better sleep. Unfortunately, the 'sleepbuds' will not be available until later this year.
I have a pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones for indoor use and a set of 3M Peltor X5A ear defenders for general use, however, I cannot easily sleep in either.
I like active noise-cancelling because it produces a quieter environment than passive options, although I am also looking at a passive options (e.g. wax earplugs) for general use and for sleeping.
Any related comments will be much appreciated. Thank you.
I only really buy Sennheiser because they dont use any bass boost, or bells and whistles. I've used them for years making music as monitors. Long lasting, even the cheap ones.

Those ones are pretty good imo, I've got high end headphones and I'm pretty used to listening to what headphones can handle. The headphone market is pretty inflated now but Sennheiser have maintained quality and value without any celebrity crap and trendy nonsense. Good honest company with the best bang for buck.
I have never owned a pair of Sennheiser's although I am aware of their reputation.
Reader's should note that the pair you link to are noise isolating earbuds rather than noise cancelling earbuds. In brief, noise isolating earbuds physically block ambient noise with a seal against your ear whereas noise cancelling may do that too but also electronically cancel sound waves (albeit not a 100% cancellation).
There is a difference, but for £100 savings I wouldn't be too bothered with the specifics. They work well and if you break or lose them ordering another pair isn't too much of a hit. I see isolating headphones with the same specs as those for higher prices than the Quietons. Just trying to help people save money!

Sometimes "quality" means overpriced! If it's something that you are going to use everyday you pretty much want it to be durable but not too pricey to lose or break. I collect watches but 9 times out of 10 I wear a cheap Timex Expedition or Citizen. They work as well as anything else and I wont be as bothered if they break because of the price and quantity produced. I treat the other stuff as a collection or investments. With something I'd be battering everyday I go for function and affordability over form and price. I'm a little OCD, so yeah I agree. Peace of mind is also part of the package!
